Eastern Region Welfare Courses

We have arranged to hold a number of Safeguarding and Welfare courses on Sunday 10th June 2018. These courses will be run by the British Fencing Welfare team and will be at the Nuffield Sports Centre, Royal Masonic School for girls, Rickmansworth.

British Fencing believe that the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility, particularly when it comes to protecting children from abuse. Everyone in fencing – administrator, club official, coach, parent, friend, children themselves, everyone – can help.

British Fencing strongly recommend that all clubs offering fencing to under 18’s and vulnerable adults should have a Welfare Officer in place who is not connected to any coach within the club. Please find details here of what is required from a club welfare officer.

The courses on offer for new CWO and existing CWO wishing to renew their qualification are:

If you would like to attend a course on the 10th June, please email our regional Welfare officer (Sarah Pallier) on welfare@www.bfaeastern.org

Coronavirus (COVID-19) and fencing...

We may be on lock-down, but the Eastern Region is still here to promote, support and encourage fencing and fencers within the region. So you can keep track of what our governing body is doing, please use the link below to take you directly to British Fencing. We'll keep posting information for fencers, coaches and referees throughout our region, and of course any updates you ask us to post. Otherwise follow the official guidelines, take care of yourselves and each other!
